ekg2-remote software package provides instant messenger and IRC client for UNIX systems - remote interface, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ekg2-remote
ekg2-remote is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ekg2-remote package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ekg2-remote *
You will get with ekg2-remote package name, version, architecture and description in a table
